From 2011 to 2012, the Houston Independent School District (HISD) partnered with Doug Lemov and Uncommon Schools to pilot school-wide training of Teach Like a Champion techniques at seven middle schools. In addition to providing a common language between teachers, students, and administrators and giving students a predictable structure with clear expectations, school-wide adoption of TLaC techniques allows teachers to learn from the absolute best resource available—each other.
